The Source of Liberty

               Let us affirm The Source of Liberty,

All tempered power if of God,

And the magistrate, His institution, laud,

To but advance creaturely happiness abaud.

Let us affirm The Source of Liberty,

Every agreeable to me nature and will,

Of the Supreme Guardian of all yet still,

Employed for our righteous freedom’s thrill

Thus proves the only Source of Liberty,

Though our civil joy is surely expressed,

Through hearth, through home, through church manifest,

Yet this too shall be a nation’s true test:

To acknowledge the Divine Source of Liberty,

Amen and Amen to Him who is our truest liberty:
